The Queensland government authored a special Deed of Agreement which allowed the very controversial canal estate development on Cairns northern beaches to go ahead, but with some conditions. One of the conditions was that the developer (Consolidated Properties) would have to contribute $50,000 to local environment community groups. A panel was organised to facilitate this and the Cairns Frog Hospital was chosen to receive some of the money. We would like to acknowledge and thank Consolidated Properties for the $10,000 that was allocated to us. This money helped to continue our work for another six months and also provided us with a hospital grade, biological air filter.

Educational books and supplies purchased for us
We have received valuable educational materials in the form of some very expensive biological and science texts purchased for us by individuals in the USA. We'd like to thank Dr. Ann Paterson of AR and the late Harriet Shapiro who's son Carl purchased the books on her behalf. The more we learn, the more we can achieve. Carl Shapiro has also purchased supplies for us and shipped them down including a laminator and some very nice gloves that aren't available here. Thanks Carl and Harriet!
